Travel Grant Request

The Yachtsmen’s Fund has established Travel Grants (formerly referred to as “Challenge Team”), which will provide partial funding to encourage juniors to take part in important events (regattas & clinics) in addition to I-LYA and US Sailing ladder events. Primarily intended to encourage those who have not yet reached their sailing potential, this program is open to I-LYA juniors between the ages of 13 and 19. To qualify for funding the event or clinic must typically draw at least 20–25 entrants per class, and be of a level of competition found at the I-LYA Junior Championships Regatta.

The following are examples of the type of activity in which this program is intended to encourage participation:
Orange Bowl • Oyster Bay Clinic • Buzzard’s Bay • C.O.R.K • Nationals, Districts, or Mid-Winters
